Honestly, if you're swimming in cash, I don't see why not. Lock into your Richie Rich persona and paint everything in Benjamin Moore Aura Interior. Sure, it's one of the more expensive options out there, but if you have no kids, no major financial responsibilities and enough disposable income to casually repaint your house for fun, then go nuts. You deserve the good stuff.

But let's be realistic.

We're living through a politically and economically stressful time, and if you have extra money lying around, which most of us don't thanks to the rising cost of basically everything (looking at you, $12 carton of eggs), I'd probably keep that money in your bank account until you're actually ready to commit to a paint job.

Because painting your house isn't exactly a $200 weekend hobby.

Between the paint, primer, supplies and the inevitable trip back to the store because you forgot something, the costs can add up pretty quickly.

But sometimes you don't really have a choice.

Maybe your kid is trying to save money on their wedding, so you've somehow agreed to host 100 people in your house.

Maybe your nephew, who you've spoken to approximately twice in the last five years, needs somewhere to live while going to school in the city.

Or maybe you've just looked at your walls for the last ten years and finally decided that the beige you've been tolerating has become a personal attack.

Whatever the reason, sometimes your home just needs a refresh.

For example, you can step down to the Benjamin Moore ben Interior line and save some money while still getting a quality product for your walls.

And if you're not emotionally attached to the words "Benjamin Moore" on the can, that's perfectly fine too.

We carry other major brands, including SICO and PPG, so you have options. More importantly, we have people who actually know the products we're selling and can help you figure out which one makes sense for your project.

And that's really the point.

You don't necessarily need the most expensive paint.

You need the right paint.

There's a difference.

If you're painting a low-traffic bedroom, you probably don't need to spend the same amount of money you'd spend on a busy hallway, kitchen or family room that's about to be attacked by children, pets and whatever your friends are capable of doing after a few drinks.

We'll help you figure that out.

Honestly?

There's no single "right" answer.

We'll tell you what we wouldn't recommend.

And if you're trying to stick to a budget, we'll work within it instead of convincing you that you suddenly need the $90 can of paint sitting on the shelf.

Because at the end of the day, our goal isn't to sell you the most expensive paint.

It's to help you get your house looking the way you want it to without making your wallet hate you.

So, should you paint your house?

If it needs it, probably.
